Meet Ms. Miller
The 2020-21 school year marks my 23rd "voyage"" aboard the OCE Clipper Ship. I was born in upstate New York, lived in New Jersey until I was eight, and then spent the remainder of my childhood living on the island of Trinidad in the Caribbean. I have lived in North Carolina since 1998 and now consider myself a Tar Heel! I have 3 children and 3 grandchildren who all live in NC. I completed a B. Ed. in Elementary Education from Colorado State University in Pueblo and am a Nationally Board Certified teacher. I am also certified to teach ESL and have minors in both reading and social science. My greatest joy as a teacher is to have the opportunity to fill young minds with knowledge, to spark curiosity about the world we live in, to promote teamwork and kindness, and to instill a love of learning through reaching higher and achieving more. Seeing bright and eager faces every day is why I teach. Every day and every year is a new adventure with five and six year-olds who believe all things are possible!
